For guests who bring their own equipment, or who want to enjoy the snow and mountain air without skiing, a cheaper transfer-only option is available. This option includes hotel pickup, return transport to Erciyes and guide service; equipment and cable car ticket are not included.
With both options, extras such as jacket and ski trousers rental, sledge rental and ski lessons can be rented or purchased on site if you wish. Your guide will point you in the right direction.
Skiing, Snowboarding or Sledging at Erciyes
Erciyes Ski Resort caters to guests of every level. There are beginner-friendly slopes, long and well-groomed runs for intermediate and advanced skiers, and dedicated areas for snowboarders. If you are skiing for the first time, you can take a paid ski lesson on site.
For guests who prefer not to ski, renting a sledge, walking in the snow or riding the cable car to take in the panoramic views over the Anatolian plateau are just as enjoyable.
Lunch on the Mountain and Local Flavours
Lunch is not included in the tour price. Restaurants and cafes at Erciyes serve hot, filling food that suits a cold snow day. Two local treats are not to be missed: sucuk ekmek, the grilled Turkish sausage sandwich that is a classic of Turkish ski days, and salep, a warming winter drink made from orchid root flour.
The Day's Schedule and Meeting Time
The tour starts with hotel pickup between 09:15 and 09:45, depending on your hotel's location. After a drive of about 90 minutes you arrive at Erciyes, where equipment is handed out. You can then ski or enjoy snow activities at your own pace throughout the day.
The group meeting time for the return is 16:00. Rental equipment is returned before this time, and hotel drop-off takes place between 17:00 and 17:30. As the whole group travels in the same vehicle, it is important to be on time at the meeting point.
