Devrent Valley and Paşabağ: Cappadocia’s Natural Icons
After hotel pickups between 09:00 and 09:45, the tour begins at approximately 10:00. At Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, naturally eroded rock formations create shapes that invite visitors to use their imagination while learning how Cappadocia’s volcanic landscape developed over time. At Paşabağ, you walk among distinctive multi-headed fairy chimneys and see rock-cut spaces associated with the valley’s monastic past.
Zelve Open Air Museum: A Rock-Cut Settlement
Zelve is a remarkable former settlement spread across connected valleys, with rock-cut churches, dwellings, storage spaces and communal areas. Your licensed guide provides historical and cultural context before you have time to explore. The official UNESCO World Heritage property is listed as “Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia”; Zelve is described here as an important rock-cut settlement of Cappadocia rather than as a separately listed UNESCO property.
Avanos: Pottery Tradition and Lunch
In Avanos, beside the Kızılırmak River, you visit a pottery workshop and watch a master potter demonstrate the local ceramic tradition. When available, guests may try the pottery wheel. Shopping is optional. Lunch is served as an open buffet and is included; beverages are extra.
Love Valley and Uçhisar: Panoramic Cappadocia
After lunch, the route continues to Love Valley for a panoramic photo stop, followed by the Uçhisar Castle viewpoint. Depending on the day’s programme and available time, an optional handwoven carpet workshop visit may also be offered. The tour normally ends at approximately 16:00, followed by hotel drop-off.
