How Many Days Do You Need in Cappadocia? A 2-Day Itinerary

Two days is the minimum to see Cappadocia properly: enough time for one hot air balloon flight and both classic full-day tour routes — the Red Tour and the Green Tour — without rushing. Here's how to structure it.

Day 1: Sunrise Balloon Flight + Red Tour

Start before sunrise with a hot air balloon flight over the fairy chimneys — this is the single most-booked Cappadocia experience, and flights are limited each morning, so book at least 2–3 days ahead in high season (April–October).

After breakfast and a short rest, join the Cappadocia Red Tour, which covers the region's most iconic sights in one day:

• Göreme Open-Air Museum — a UNESCO World Heritage site with painted rock-cut Byzantine churches
• Uçhisar Castle — the highest point in the region, with panoramic views across Cappadocia
• Pigeon Valley — named for the hundreds of hand-carved pigeon houses in the cliff faces

Day 2: Green Tour

Your second day is the Cappadocia Green Tour, which goes further afield to:

• Selime Monastery — a rock-cut monastery at the head of the Ihlara Valley
